【English Ver.】日本で働く介護ビザのフィリピン人介護士-staff interview【Vol.1】

2018年4月に日本に来ました。

I came to Japan in April 2018.

留学ビザで日本にきたタイミングで介護のアルバイトを始めました。

I started working part-time as a caregiver when I came to Japan with a student visa.

2018年に留学ビザで日本に来て、日本語学校に通いながら介護の仕事をしていました。

In 2018, I came to Japan with a student visa and worked as a caregiver while attending a Japanese language school.

フィリピンで日本語学校に通っていた時の友人が、先に日本で介護の仕事をしていました。

そのため、介護や日本の話をたくさん聞くことができ、親しみがわいていました。

From then I was able to hear many stories about nursing care and Japan country, and I felt a sense of familiarity with them.

また、フィリピンで看護師の資格を取得していました。

看護や介護の仕事はとても好きだったので、日本で介護の仕事がしたいと思い来日し、介護の仕事を始めました。

I also had a nursing license in the Philippines.

I really liked nursing and nursing care work, so I came to Japan with the desire to work in nursing care, and started working there.

日本で仕事をするかどうか決めるまでにとても悩みました。

じつは、フィリピンの日本語学校を卒業してから、日本に来るまでに1年も悩みました。

I had a lot of trouble deciding whether to work in Japan or not.

In fact, after graduating from a Japanese language school in the Philippines, I worried for a year before coming to Japan.

私には子供がいますので、子育てはどうするのかなどを、家族と話し合いをしました。

私は慎重な性格なので、日本にいる友人からたくさん話を聞いたり、相談したりして、ようやく日本で仕事をする決断をしました。

I have a child, so I discussed with my family how to raise them.

I’m a cautious person, so I heard a lot of stories from my friends in Japan and consulted with them before finally deciding to work in Japan.

緊張していつもドキドキしていました。

初めての日本での仕事だったし、自分の日本語レベルが低かったから、しっかりコミュニケーションが取れるのか不安で緊張していた。

実際に、職場のスタッフが話す日本語は、とても早口だったので、本で勉強するのと、実際に話すのは全然ちがうと感じていました。

I was afraid and nervous all the time.

It was my first time working in Japan, and my Japanese level was low, so I was nervous whether I would be able to communicate properly.

In fact, the Nihongo spoken by the staff at work was very fast, so I felt that studying it from books and in actual speaking and hearing it were completely different.

介護施設のスタッフと明るくコミュニケーションを取りながら仕事をすることが楽しいです。

みんな優しいし、仲良しなので仕事の時間がとても好きです。

I enjoy working with my fellow staff in nursing facilities while having a good communication with them.

Everyone is kind and friendly, so I really like my work time.

仕事が忙しいと、スタッフの雰囲気も暗くなってしまいます。

明るい雰囲気で仕事をするのが好きなので、みんなを笑わせるために冗談を言うことが多いです。

When the work is busy, the atmosphere of the staff becomes dark.

I like to work in a cheerful atmosphere, so I often tell jokes to make everyone laugh.

例えば、ほかのスタッフから、「○○をお願いしてもいいですか？」と、尋ねられたら、「いいですよ！でも、かわりに5000円くださいね」と答えます（笑）

すると、皆さん笑ってくれるので、私もうれしいし、そのやり取りを見ていた他のスタッフさんも笑顔になります。

For example, if another staff member asks, “Can I ask for XX?”

When I do that, everyone laughs, which makes me happy, and the other staff members who are watching the exchange also smile.

ご入居者の方それぞれ介助の仕方が違うことが大変なことです。

排泄介助や、入浴（お風呂）介助、寝たきりの方の介助など、介護にはむずかしい仕事がたくさんあります。

また、ご入居者の名前を覚えるのも難しいです。

私の職場では、ご入居者の名前を、漢字、ひらがなで読み書きできるように勉強します。

漢字で読み書きができるようになると、服薬介助を任せてもらえるようになるので、大事な仕事として頑張っています。

It is difficult for each resident to have a different way of providing assistance.

Nursing care involves many difficult tasks, such as excretion assistance, bathing assistance, and bedridden assistance.

Also, it is difficult to remember the names of the residents.

At my workplace, we learn how to read and write the names of tenants in kanji and hiragana.

Once I become able to read and write kanji, I will be entrusted with assisting with taking medication, so I am doing my best as I can .

日本に来たばかりの頃は、N4レベルぐらいだったので、「はい」「いいえ」「わかりました」など、基本的な日本語しか話せなかったんです。

そのため、施設のスタッフさんの言っていることを理解して、自分の伝えたいことを言葉にするのが難しかったです。

When I first came to Japan, I was about N4 level, so I could only speak basic Japanese such as “yes”, “no”, “understood”.

Therefore, it was difficult for me to understand what the facility staff were saying and put into words what I wanted to convey.

フィリピンの日本語学校で6ヶ月勉強をしました。

そのあと日本に来て、日本語学校で2年間、専門学校で2年間勉強しました。

I studied at a Japanese language school in the Philippines for 6 months.

After that, I came to Japan and studied at a Japanese language school for two years and at a vocational school for two years.

食料品の値段が高くてびっくりしました。

特に、水やお米が高いと思います。

フィリピンのお米の値段は、1kgあたり50ペソ（約125円）ですが、日本のお米の値段は1kgあたり300円です。

だけど、フィリピンのお米より、日本のお米のほうがおいしいです。

I was surprised at how expensive food was.

I think water and rice are particularly expensive.

The price of rice in the Philippines is 50 pesos (about 125 yen) per kg, while the price of rice in Japan is 300 yen per kg.

However, Japanese rice is more delicious than Filipino rice.

はじめて日本に来た時の印象は、町がキレイということでした。

あと、どこに行ってもコンビニエンスストアがあるので、便利だしすごいと思った。

ただ、マンションや家の広さはとても狭いですね。

フィリピンの自分の部屋は、日本で住んでいる家の3倍ぐらいあるので、こんな小さい部屋で生活できるのか不安でした。

でも、1ヶ月で慣れてしまいました。

When I first came to Japan, my impression was that the towns are beautiful.

Also, there are convenience stores everywhere you go, so I thought it was convenient and amazing.

However, apartments and houses are very small.

My room in the Philippines is about three times the size of the house I live in in Japan, so I was worried about living in such a small room.But after a month, I got used to it.

あと、日本の夜はとても静かです。

フィリピンの夜は、みんなで騒いでいたので、日本でも友達と楽しく過ごしていましたが、日本で夜に騒いでいると怒られます。。。

Also, Japan is very quiet at night.

At night in the Philippines, everyone was making a lot of noise, so I had a good time with my friends in Japan, but if I made a noise at night in Japan, I would get scolded. . .

最近ではなく、ずっと感謝していることは、職場のサポートです。

初めて日本に来たときは、家族もいなくて寂しいし、日本語の勉強はむずかしいし楽しくなかった。

日本語が話せないせいで、スタッフに悪口を言われたこともあります。

ですが、ほとんどのスタッフは、日本語も仕事もできない私にやさしくアドバイスや指導をしてくれました。

生活のことで困っても、いつでも相談できる環境もあります。

One thing I have always appreciated, though not recently, is workplace support.

When I first came to Japan, I was lonely because I didn’t have a family, and studying Japanese was difficult and not fun.Because I can’t speak Japanese, I’ve been verbally abused by the staff.

However, most of the staff kindly gave me advice and guidance even though I could not speak Japanese or work.

There is also an environment where you can consult at any time even if you are having trouble with your life.

転職をしたいと思い、求人を探したこともあります。

少しだけ給料が高い職場もあるけど、サポートが素晴らしいから、今の職場で長く働きたいと思っています。

There is a time when I wanted to change jobs, so I looked for a new one.

There are workplaces where the salary is slightly higher, but the support is wonderful, so I would like to work at my current workplace for a long time.

短くても2週間は、見守りながら一緒に仕事をすることが大事だと思います。

何かわからないことがあったときに、すぐに質問ができるようにするためです。

私は、ベトナム人の新人介護士さんの指導もしたことがあります。

自分が困った経験を生かして、2週間一緒に仕事をして、厳しく指導もした。

仕事の楽しさも知ってもらいたいので、仕事が終わった後や、休憩時間は楽しく会話をすることで、メリハリをつけて指導しました。

I think it’s important to work with someone together for at least two weeks while watching over the residence.

If it`s happen that you don’t understand something, you can ask questions immediately.

I have also trained a new Vietnamese caregiver.

Taking advantage of my troubled experience, I worked with him for two weeks and gave him strict guidance.

I wanted them to know how fun it is to work, so I taught them by having fun conversations with them after work and during break

日本の生活や仕事に慣れるには我慢が必要です。

私が専門学校に通っているときの1日のスケジュールを紹介します。

学校とアルバイトで遊ぶ時間はあまりなかったですが、今は介護福祉士の資格も取ることができてとても満足しています。

It takes patience to get used to life and work in Japan.

I will introduce my daily schedule when I am attending a vocational school.

I didn’t have much time to play around with school and my part-time job, but now I’m very happy that I was able to obtain a certification as a care worker.

忙しいし大変そうだけど、リーダーになって仕事をしてみたいと思います！

It seems like there is a lot of work and busy , but I want to try and become a leader in my work.
